Trauma-Responsive Strategies Micro-Credential
The Trauma-Responsive Strategies Micro-Credential is a 15-hour interactive training series (check dates for in-person or virtual opportunities). Participants are required to attend all 15-hours to be eligible to apply for the micro-credential. This training is designed to provide practical skills and techniques that are supported by neuroscience for staff members working directly with clients/patients who are struggling with trauma-related symptoms.

Learning Objectives:
There is a need for frontline works to be equipped with tools and skills to support their clients/patients in coping with common trauma reactions without the need to be a trauma-therapist. Participants will learn how being trauma-responsive can support their own wellness as well as improve workplace culture and service provision through:
- Understanding the meaning of behavior
- Working through the cognitive triangle for both self and patients/clients (thoughts, feelings, body responses)
- Using case scenarios, participants will practice in-the-moment assessment of verbal and non-verbal cues of dysregulation
- Practicing in-the-moment strategies for regulation of self and the the application of these strategies to cope with clients/patients
