**CLOSED**Preconference workshop: Harm Reduction and Community Safety Training
**Signup for this preconference training is closed** Half day workshop hosted by Sonoran Prevention Works focusing on community safety, harm reduction, and how we show up for our communities. Lunch will be included. Official start time will be shared with registrants, but attendees should expect to get started around 9am on Monday, March 18th at the workshop facility near the Summit location. Naloxone training will be included. In this training, we will dive into the grassroots movement of harm reduction. Harm reduction began by communities who wanted and needed to take care of each other. This is where the core phrase of harm reduction comes from “Nothing about us without us.” We will explore how these communities showed up for each other and how we can apply the core values and principles of harm reduction in our own communities. We will also take the time to understand what gets in the way of communities supporting each other. Keeping our own communities in mind, we will use this training to recognize how connection and dignity is critical to community safety. The participants will then be given a chance to identify the factors within and imposed upon communities that make it difficult to root in community care. Finally, we will leave the workshop with key action steps that we can take to address what we explored to increase community safety and identified resources and partners in action to support what happens next.Half day workshop hosted by Sonoran Prevention Works focusing on community safety, harm reduction, and how we show up for our communities. Narcan training will be included. Lunch included. Schedule and detailed description will be released soon, attendees can expect to get started around 9am on Monday the 18th.
