Order of the Engineer
The Order of the Engineer is intended to foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession, to bridge the gap between training and experience, and to present to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer. Participant who recite the Obligation wear a stainless steel ring (traditionally worn on the pinkie finger) that exemplifies the profession's values (For engineering majors only).
Ring Sizing Directions: Students participating in the Order of the Engineer can size their ring in the Steven's Undergraduate Center on the 4th floor of Bonner Hall on:
Monday, February 16 - 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Tuesday, February 17 - 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Wednesday, February 18 - 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Thursday, February 19- 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.
Friday, February 20 - 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Pledge of the Computing Professional
The Pledge of the Computing Professional is intended to promote and recognize the ethical and moral responsibility of graduates of computing-related degree programs as they transition to careers of service to society. Each graduating computer scientist who has recited the Pledge receives a brass lapel pin that spells 'HONOR' in ASCII code.
